The ReverseGUARD® – Half-Frame System is designed to accommodate special installation requirements.

The half-frame is recommended as an option for states such as Florida, Massachusetts and Virginia where motor vehicle laws specifically restrict any device that obstructs a portion of the lettering on the license plate.  The half-frame design includes a special mounting bracket that is about ˝ inch taller than the standard plate.  That allows mounting of the frame above or below the plate so that none of the lettering on the plate is obscured. As with the full frame, the half-frame can be mounted with the sensors at the top or bottom on the plate.

For most installs, the Control Box is mounted at the rear of the vehicle, hidden under trim paneling the trunk area. The half-frame is manufactured with extra long cables which allows for mounting of the Control Box in alternative locations.  The most frequent use of the half-frame for this feature is pickup trucks that do not have a watertight area for the control box at the rear of the vehicle. With the 13 foot cabling that is attached to the system, it is possible to mount the control box inside the cab of a pickup truck.

• ReverseGUARD has the look and feel of a factory installed system, and is designed to retrofit virtually all private passenger and commercial vehicles.  The sensor system can be mounted on the top or bottom of a centre-mounted license plate.
